I’ve got it bad!
Last week I attended a workshop for my day job. On my lunch break, I wandered over to CVS Pharmacy and found myself in the nail polish section. I was interested in finding yellow and/or gold polish that could potentially be good nail stamping polish. Ten bottles later, I walked out of the store.
Ten bottles of polish aren’t a huge deal in the big scheme of things. However, this nail polish obsession only started a little over a month ago. And in that time, I went from maybe 10 bottles of polish to over 100. I’m not exaggerating. And prior to buying these last ten bottles, I told myself (and others) that I wouldn’t need to buy another bottle of polish for at least a year. Oh how wrong I was!
Here’s what I’ve learned about nail art. If you’re going to experiment with different designs, you need different shades of similar colors to work with. Some of the most gorgeous stuff I’ve seen incorporates four or five shades of green or purple. And some shades go better together than others.
It’s like art. Duh! It’s nail art. We wouldn’t fault an artist for having too many colors at their disposal. I’m saying we can’t fault the nail artist either!
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. As a good friend of mine said, “It’s not like you bought 100 pair of shoes. How much damage could you do? It’s polish!”
Way to rationalize.
As a novice, I’d say I’m definitely still building my cadre of tools.
