Memorial Day Manicure Take Two: Bundle Monster Plate 321
Ok, maybe my colleagues are right. Maybe I have lost my mind. Or maybe I’ve gone nuts for nails!
I re-did my Memorial Day manicure last night. (Do you do that? ) I was convinced I could do a better job, and I made a couple different choices. See my first attempt here.
-
First, I used a different brown. This time I used China Glaze Goin’ My Way. It was much easier to work with and very pretty.
-
I used a different brand and style of French tip guide. This guide wasn’t as sticky and didn’t leave as much gunk on the nail, but it did leave some.
-
Finally, I used China Glaze Passion to stamp the ribbons. Passion is an awesome stamping polish. So beautiful! And I used the larger ribbons on all but the pinky nail.
So here’s my assessment of take two:
-
While the pointy tip came out neater, aesthetically I prefer the round design. The key is going to be finding French tip guides that suit my needs. Also, if I did it again, I would use a dotting tool to apply the gold glitter for better control.
-
While the ribbons stamped so clearly in Passion, I prefer the yellow or gold for the memorial day theme and the color combination with the brown polish and gold glitter.
-
The larger ribbons are fine, but I really prefer the small ones. They look dainty and pretty when they’re smaller.
Final assessment: the second manicure had better execution, but I think the original design was better. Anyway, what do you think?

Thanks for reading. Stay beautiful!
This manicure really grew on me. My nails kept catching my eye as I moved throughout my day. I love it when that happens! And it really held up – five full days!!
